Community comes together for a fun and active family stroll with a special surprise guest—The Easter Bunny!

On Tuesday 15 April 2025, Cornton residents of all ages took part in a special Family Easter Health Walk, held from 12noon to 12:45pm in the heart of the Cornton community. The walk brought together 26 local participants, including children, parents, and carers—along with two of Active Stirling’s dedicated volunteer walk leaders and some very special guests, including the Easter Bunny!

The walk was inspired by a suggestion from Active Stirling’s volunteer walk leaders, who played a key role in shaping the idea and helping bring it to life. Their enthusiasm and support were instrumental in making the event a success. The walk was then delivered through a fantastic partnership between Tom Gebbie, Community Activation Officer at Active Stirling; Chris Burns, Stirling Council’s Community Development Worker; and Kat McNicol from Cornton Library (part of Stirling Libraries and Archives).

Children enjoyed an Easter surprise along the way, meeting the Easter Bunny and receiving chocolate eggs donated by Support for Families—a local charity which also supports the Tuesday Community Café. Cornton Community Council kindly provided refreshments for walkers to enjoy at the end of the walk.

It was brilliant to see so many people from the local area getting out and active together. The walk had such a positive energy and was a great example of what can be achieved when local groups come together. And of course, the Easter Bunny made it extra special for the kids!

It was so lovely to see such a great turnout for this community event, and the children loved the visit from the Easter Bunny!
