Active Stirling's SportAbility Curling programme, is an Inclusive programme for school children, young people, and adults with disabilities and additional support needs.

These sessions are a great introduction to the sport of curling, consisting of 1 hour coaching session with a qualified instructor.

Please note - carers are welcome to attend for free and we would encourage all to take part on the ice.

  • Perfect class to learn the basics of Curling.
  • Fun, relaxed coaching.
  • Safety: How to move safely on the ice.
  • Delivering the stone: the technique of sliding the polished granite stones down the ice towards the target (house).
  • Sweeping: Sweeping the ice in front of the stone to influence its speed and direction.
  • Practice: You’ll have a chance to practice both delivering the stones and sweeping the ice.

Do you miss curling since your eyesight weakened? Are you visually impaired and looking for a new sport to try? Perhaps you'd like to try one of our Vision Impaired Curling sessions. We have delivery aids and sticks to help you in the session.

Wheelchair curling can be played by people with a wide range of disabilities who use a wheelchair for daily living or sport only. All that is needed is the co-ordination to hold a delivery stick and some strength to push it with a stone attached to the other end.

Our Sportability Curling sessions are inclusive sessions for school aged children, young people and adults with disabilities and additional support needs.
