We recently hosted a fantastic Boccia event for primary and secondary school students from across Stirling as part of our inclusive SportAbility programme.

The event brought together over 70 pupils, all excited to show off the Boccia skills they’ve been practicing throughout the year!

Boccia, a Paralympic sport played from a seated position, is perfect for children and young people with physical, sensory, and learning disabilities, including autism and neurodiverse needs. The game requires strategy and precision, as players compete to get their red or blue balls closest to the white "Jack" ball.

The day was filled with thrilling play, teamwork, and fun, and we’re thrilled to announce that the top four finishers in each category have qualified for the Forth Valley Disability Sport Championships in January 2025!

Here's some highlights from the Boccia event!

The event was a fantastic success! It was wonderful to see the pupils showcase the Boccia skills they've developed over the months, with some truly outstanding play—several matches even came down to a tiebreaker! Congratulations to everyone who played and to those moving on to the Forth Valley Championships. Huge thanks to our Active Stirling staff, McLaren High Sport Leaders, and our incredible Boccia volunteers who helped make this event possible.
