On Sunday 6 November Active Stirling took members of Forth Valley Recovery Community (FVRC) Gorge Walking in Balquhidder.

FVRC successfully secured funding to provide outdoor activities for their members, and the gorge walk with Active Stirling was the first of their adventures in Scotland’s great outdoors. This is the first time in 6 years the community has been able to take part in outdoor activities and it was a fantastic experience for everyone involved. All participants threw themselves into every challenge and worked well as a team, especially with the water level being as high as it was on the day.

We all loved every minute of the experience and challenges. A day full of fun and laughter with great team working too. A big thanks to our partners at Active Stirling.

Active Stirling will be working with FVRC to deliver more outdoor activities in 2023, getting more members of the community experiencing all the great opportunities the outdoors has to offer.

Well done to everyone who took part in the gorge walk. It was great to see the group enjoying themselves in an activity they may never have done before. Everyone did extremely well in each challenge, which was brilliant to see. Outdoor adventure activities are great for developing teamwork and resilience and it was fantastic to support FVRC to access this kind of activity. Thank you to Iain Mackinnon from Active Stirling's Outdoor Team for making this all happen. I look forward to organising more days like this for the group.
