Active Schools recently hosted a Dance Leadership event at The PEAK, Stirling Sports Village, and it was a fantastic day filled with energy and excitement!

Around 80 students from Stirling High, Wallace High, St Modan’s High, McLaren High, Balfron High and Bannockburn High Schools came together to learn, have fun, and develop their ability to lead dance activities in their schools.

This initiative is all about helping young leaders build their confidence and skills with the support of Active Stirling’s Active Schools Team. Our goal is to create an inclusive approach to dance, bringing more opportunities for students to get involved. Events like this are key to encouraging more children to participate in sports and physical activities, leading to healthier lifestyles and better well-being.

We’re thrilled to have delivered the Dance Leadership Course in partnership with Mrs Steel from Wallace High School. It was great to see the students come together to work with different schools to create material they can re-teach. The turnout was fantastic, and everyone worked amazing through each task. We can’t wait to see what each school delivers and achieves in the future!

This event is also part of Active Stirling’s dance programme, which aims to smooth the transition from primary to secondary school dance and help students build on their skills as they move up.

Well done to all our star performers!
