Recently, we hosted one of our biggest school events - the thrilling Schools Cross Country!

Organised by the brilliant Active Schools team, the day brought together an impressive 400 pupils from 32 primary schools and 200 pupils from 8 secondary schools across Stirling.

This year, the weather was on our side (for a change!), and while there were a few muddy tracks to tackle, that didn’t stop our young athletes from giving it their all. From one-mile morning runs by primary pupils to the two-mile challenges for secondary pupils in the afternoon, the day was packed with determination, teamwork, and a whole lot of fun!

Cross country isn’t just about the running—it’s about building resilience, boosting fitness, and proving that you can conquer any challenge thrown your way. Whether racing solo for the fastest times or working together in teams for top scores, every participant gave it 110%.

It was excellent to have over 600 Stirling pupils taking part in our annual Cross Country Championship. This is thanks to the hard work of teachers and parent-volunteers who have been supporting running/cross country clubs in their local schools. The competition on the day was excellent, with an excellent standard of running. All races keenly contested, with sportsmanship and friendship shown throughout as well. Well done to all pupils who took part, and congratulations to all individuals and teams who placed.
