As part of Active Stirling’s SportAbility programme, we’re excited to offer come and try multi-sport sessions for those living with disabilities or who face barriers to participating in sport.

Since launching in 2022, our SportAbility programme has been offering weekly sessions at The PEAK every Friday for individuals with disabilities and support needs.

Now, we’re excited to introduce a special four-week block of FREE Come and Try sessions in Balfron!

The goal of this pilot programme is to bring the joy of inclusive sports to those living in rural communities, giving them the chance to try a variety of fun activities like boccia, short tennis, basketball, table cricket, and kwik curling. No experience is needed—just come along and enjoy!

FREE WITHOUT BARRIERS MULTI-SPORT SESSIONS:

Venue: John McLintock Hall, Balfron

Dates: Thursday 7, Thursday 14, Thursday 21 and Thursday 28 November

Times: 10.00am-12.00pm

Please note we’re unable to provide support at these sessions, all participants will need to arrange their own 1-1 support. These sessions are open to anyone living with disabilities or experiencing barriers to participating in sports.

The Without Barriers Multi-Sport sessions have been a fantastic opportunity for social and inclusive sport since 2022. They offer a welcoming space where people can try new sports or enjoy their favourites. Participants develop new skills, improve their physical and mental well-being, and build great connections with both staff and fellow participants. These sessions have also helped us strengthen relationships with local groups and partner organisations, leading to additional sport-specific sessions. We’re excited to bring this to Balfron and hope to reach new people who can experience the many benefits of sport.
