Similar to our children’s learn to skate programme, the adult skating programme follows British Ice Skating’s National Governing Body pathway, taking you through the learn to skate badges 1–8.

From there our adult skaters will progress to the Skate Star programme, working through bronze, silver, gold, and platinum levels.

We offer a choice of days for your lessons, either a Friday morning or a Saturday afternoon and classes are suitable for those who are over the age of 16 years. They are ideal for beginners wanting to try ice skating, through to those at an intermediate level, with ice boot hire included in the cost of lessons.

Why choose the adult skating programme with Active Stirling

Our adult ice programme is led by British Ice Skating licensed coaches so you can know that you are receiving top-quality training.

Skate UK and Skate Star, the official Learn to Skate programmes by British Ice Skating, are designed to keep skaters engaged, boost their confidence, and enhance their athletic and technical skills.

Progress throughout each badge is recorded by our skating coaches on their tablets during/straight after each session. Skaters are then able to log in here to their personal Homeportal account which allows them to track their own progress.

Using the information provided skaters can identify areas to work on and have the opportunity to book into one of our public skating sessions to practice these out with weekly classes.
