NICAS Wild Climbing Age 3 to 7
NICAS Wild Climbing offers climbing skills for young children. This programme is fun, and game orientated and will introduce young climbers safely into the indoor climbing environment and develop their awareness of climbing movements.

You can purchase (optional) the NICAS Wild Climbing progress book at PEAK reception for £15. Each time your child passes a particular skill, such as agility, focus, balance, communication, co-ordination, and teamwork, they will receive stickers from their Climbing wall Instructor.
• Children will develop a solid grounding in the core skills that help with climbing whilst having fun and gaining confidence in a wall environment.
• NICAS Wild climbing will introduce young children to the indoor climbing environment in a fun and inclusive way.
• The classes will help build awareness of climbing movements, improve confidence and create a pathway to the NICAS scheme or other additional climbing activities.
The scheme is designed to meet the 3 ‘key learning areas’ on the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) which is the precursor to Key Stage 1 education - Communication, Physical development and Social/Emotional development.
During the block of classes children will work on developing the following 6 key skills:
- Agility
- Balance
- Communication
- Coordination
- Focus
- Teamwork
- Trainers or equivalent
- Comfortable leisure wear
- Tracksuit bottoms/joggers/shorts (no dresses/skirts as impedes harness fitting)
All equipment is supplied at The PEAK including:
- Harness
- Climbing shoes
All classes can be viewed and booked using our online booking portal, the Homeportal.
- Your child will need a home portal account to book.

- Please note that if booking more than one child please complete the booking for the first child before booking the second child.
- Enter your email address as your username and enter your password, or select 'forgotten password' if you can't remember your password.
- Select Book class.
- Choose Active Stirling and Climbing (available classes will appear as bookable) - please have your card details at hand.
