Active Stirling, in collaboration with the Scottish Country Dance Association, is delighted to announce the incredible success of their annual Active Schools Scottish Country Dance Festival for 2023. This event, held on Wednesday 29th November at The PEAK leisure centre in Stirling, brought together over 250 children from 14 schools across the Stirling area to celebrate the beauty and tradition of Scottish Country Dancing.
Watch the event highlights!
The festival provided a vibrant atmosphere as young dancers from various schools showcased their talent and enthusiasm on the dance floor. Accompanied by live music, dancers of all ages enjoyed dancing to the traditional Scottish music. The performances were a testament to the hard work and dedication of both the learners and their school staff.
This prestigious event not only highlighted the importance of physical activity and cultural education but also demonstrated the strong sense of community within Stirling. It was heartwarming to witness the children joining together, celebrating their Scottish heritage, and fostering a love for traditional dance.
To ensure the success of the festival, the participating children received valuable support from their respective school staff members. Their guidance and efforts were instrumental in preparing the young dancers for the event, allowing them to shine on the day and make this festival a great experience.
Active Stirling would like to extend our gratitude to everyone involved in making this event a resounding success. Thank you to all the primary schools for your brilliant dancing. Well done to all school staff involved. We appreciate your hard work. Massive thank you to Janet Johnstone and dancers from the Scottish Country Dance Association. We couldn't do it without you. Your dedication and commitment to promoting physical activity and preserving our cultural heritage deserve applause.
