A smashing start to the year, as we hosted the first big event for Stirling’s Secondary pupils at The PEAK.

Active Schools Team kicked off in style with our recent Netball Championship event bringing together 120 enthusiastic pupils from six local secondary schools: Balfron, Dunblane, Stirling, McLaren, Wallace, and Queen Victoria.

It was a day packed with energy, competition, and plenty of fun as 17 teams of S1 and S2 pupils hit the courts, showing off their netball skills and school pride. The morning buzzed with action during the round-robin tournament, where teams battled it out in four groups to earn a spot in the afternoon Knockout stage.

But the excitement didn’t stop there! S3 pupils from Dunblane and Balfron stepped up as umpires, proving their leadership and knowledge of the game. Their efforts ensured smooth gameplay and fair competition, earning them heaps of praise.

As the day rolled on, the Knockout tournament took centre stage, while friendly matches kept the fun vibes going. The grand final was a nail-biting showdown, with teams giving it their all to claim the top spot ...... and the winning school and team goes to Dunblane High School, who wowed everyone with their skill and determination!

Here's our young stars in action

This was a fantastic event, and we’re incredibly proud of how all the teams performed. The spirit of sportsmanship shown throughout the day made it such a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved. A huge thanks to all the pupils, staff, and volunteers who contributed to its success.
